SPX504 Series | Online Tuning Fork Density & Concentration Meter

The SPX504 Series is a high-performance, vibration-based transmitter designed for continuous, real-time measurement of liquid density and concentration. Its “Plug and Play” design eliminates the need for manual laboratory sampling, providing instant data for automated process control.

  • Precision: Accuracy up to ±0.001 g/cm³.

  • Versatility: Measures density, concentration (%), Brix, and specific gravity.

  • Durability: No moving parts; available with PTFE coating or Tantalum for corrosive media.

  • Connectivity: 4-20mA, RS485 Modbus, and HART protocol.

  • Swiss-Ready: ATEX/Explosion-proof certified for hazardous environments.

Description

The SPX504 uses the principle of Tuning Fork Resonance. When the sensor is immersed in a liquid, the change in vibration frequency is directly proportional to the density. This “Online” approach allows for zero-pressure loss in your pipeline and maintenance-free operation in both open and closed tanks.

Specialized Versions for Your Industry

Instead of browsing multiple models, the SPX504 Series is configurable for your specific environment:

  • The Pharma & Food Edition: Features a Hygienic Chuck (Tri-Clamp) connection and electrolytic polishing to meet strict sanitary standards.

  • The Chemical & Anti-Corrosion Edition: Wetted parts available in Hastelloy C, Titanium, or PTFE/PFA coating to handle sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and caustic soda.

  • The Distillery & Beverage Edition: Pre-configured for high-accuracy Alcohol Concentration or sugar content (Brix) monitoring.

  • The Industrial Tank Edition: Available with long-rod insertions (up to 2m) for deep tanks and reservoirs.

FAQ

  • Does the sensor require frequent calibration? No. The SPX504 is designed for “Plug and Play” operation. Once calibrated for your medium, it remains stable thanks to its vibration-frequency logic.

  • Can it handle liquids with particles? Yes, it is highly effective in desulfurization (lime slurry) and wastewater treatment where particles are present, provided the viscosity is within range.

  • Is it compatible with my existing PLC? Yes. With standard 4-20mA and RS485 Modbus RTU, it integrates seamlessly into Siemens, Rockwell, and other industrial control systems.
