Description
The PM427 Series is the ultimate space-saving solution for modern industrial systems. Traditionally, monitoring pressure and temperature required two separate process connections, doubling the drilling, wiring, and maintenance work. The PM427 integrates both measurements into a single AISI 316L stainless steel body, streamlining your hardware without sacrificing precision.
High-Response Dual Sensing
Equipped with a high-stability silicon sensing core and an integrated temperature element, the PM427 provides real-time data for both variables. The PM4271 version features an exposed temperature probe, ensuring the fastest possible thermal response times—critical for monitoring cooling loops, hydraulic power units, and rapid-flow pipelines.
Engineered for Harsh Environments
With a protection rating up to IP68, the PM427 is built to perform in submerged or outdoor conditions. Its robust design is resistant to mechanical vibration (up to 20g) and shock, making it ideal for:
-
Hydraulic Systems: Monitoring oil pressure and thermal health simultaneously.
-
Water Treatment: Tracking line pressure and temperature in filtration skids.
-
HVAC & Cooling: Precise control of thermal exchangers and pump stations.
Smart Communication & Safety
The PM427 is ready for Industry 4.0 with optional RS485 Modbus digital output, allowing for long-distance data transmission without signal loss. For volatile environments, such as chemical processing or fuel monitoring, the PM427 can be configured with Intrinsically Safe (Exia) protection to ensure total site safety.

FAQ
1. Can the pressure and temperature signals be sent to different controllers? Yes. The PM427 is designed for maximum integration flexibility. Depending on the selected electrical connection (e.g., M12 5-pin aviation plug or multi-core Direct Cable), the transmitter provides independent wiring for the pressure and temperature channels. This allows you to route the pressure signal to a VFD (like an INVT drive) and the temperature signal to a separate PLC or digital display simultaneously.
2. What is the response time for the temperature measurement? Response time depends on the model selected. For applications requiring rapid thermal tracking (such as cooling loops or engine testing), we recommend the PM4271. Because its temperature probe is exposed and in direct contact with the medium, it provides a significantly faster T90 response time compared to the PM4272, which uses an internal sensing element.
3. Is this sensor suitable for outdoor or submerged use? Yes, the PM427 is built for extreme environments. When configured with IP68 protection and a GLAND or Direct Cable connection, the unit is fully submersible and hermetically sealed. It is highly resistant to heavy rain, high humidity, and condensation, making it ideal for outdoor water treatment plants or hydraulic systems in damp environments.
4. Does the PM427 require two separate power supplies for the dual signals? No. The sensor typically shares a common ground (GND) and power supply (Vcc), utilizing a multi-wire output to keep your wiring loom simple and clean. This “2-in-1” wiring approach significantly reduces the time and cost of installation in complex control cabinets.
5. Which cable material should I choose: PVC or PUR? For standard industrial applications, PVC is sufficient. However, if the sensor will be exposed to oils, fats, or mechanical abrasion (common in Swiss CNC or hydraulic machinery), we strongly recommend the PUR (Polyurethane) cable for its superior chemical resistance and durability.
